RYAN MARTIN

  • Current Division I Asst. Coach at the University of Hartford
  • 11-year NCAA coaching veteran
  • 2x NCAA All-American & Empire 8 League Player of the Year

Ryan Martin is one of the best mentors in the game today as a result of superb mentorship earlier in his career.  As a collegian All-American goalie for Ithaca College, Martin was coached by legend Jeff Long.  The two brought the Bombers to the Div. III Final Four in 2003.  Martin began his NCAA coaching career (now entering its 12th season) at Hampden Sydney College in 2005 under the tutelage of the great Ray Rostan.  He then moved onto coaching at RPI as an assistant and later as the interim head coach.

Martin spent four seasons as an assistant at Nazareth College, twice capturing Empire 8 League Championships and NCAA automatic tourney berths.  His next stop was as the head coach at SUNY-Oswego, where he led the team for 4 years including their first back-to-back winning seasons in 16 years.  Martin coached seven All-SUNYAC players during that time.  He now is the offensive coordinator and goalie coach at Division I University of Hartford.
